LASER PERIODONTAL SOLUTIONS

What is Periodontal Disease?

Periodontal disease (also known as gum disease) occurs when the buildup of plaque bacteria irritate the gums and trigger an inflammatory response characterized by reddened tissue, swelling, and bleeding.  Bacteria erode gum and bone tissue in severe cases, causing gum recession, spaces between the teeth and gums, loosening and shifting teeth, and eventually tooth loss.

Laser Periodontal Solutions

Our practice offers a minimally invasive periodontal surgery called Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP).  The LANAP® protocol is the only laser periodontitis treatment scientifically and clinically proven to regenerate both soft tissue and bone, with FDA clearance.  The PerioLase® Nd:YAG laser delivers gentle pulses of light to effectively root out and kill the damaging bacteria hidden between teeth and gums while keeping healthy tissue intact.  Since there is no cutting and little to no post-operative inflammation, our patients experience a much faster healing period and often do not need pain medication.

The PerioLase® Nd:YAG laser can also be used to treat bacterial infections around implant called peri-implantitis.  The LAPIP protocol is the only patient-friendly, predictable solution for ailing implants.
